You can not tell me that this is all of the drugs at Hartselle High School on this day! Some body had to be tipped off or there would have been alot more arrested and taken to juvenile lock up!!

If you can't do the time !

Lock-em, expell-em....The Decatur Daily's 2011 druggie of the year....

They found "residue." Probably means the kids did nothing on school grounds, but now a good name is blemished and a future dimmed. Parents, have your children ride the bus. Young people are prone to risk-taking and experimentation. Getting caught may place them in facilities with hardened criminals, where they will only learn about more criminal behaviors and gain access to more drugs, and possibly face physical harm as well.

"Outstanding linebacker" Hell, he should be. He's playing against kids 2-3 years younger.

"M"...Really? Did you read the whole article? There was more than residue found. Also, your comments about being on school grounds does not make any sense. You do realize that illegal drugs are illegal everywhere, not just on school grounds, right? So you would rather these kids, and another drug using kids, not know there are repercussions by using ways to avoid getting arrested so that their name is not ruined? Getting arrested only causes more drug use? As opposed to what when a drug user is never arrested?

This kid probably has a good future playing ball at the University of Florida or Tennessee.

M your comments represent everything that is wrong with our society today, this mentality of " my baby dint do nuffin " is destroying our society. It's the very reason a large portion of the youth today are little more than marauding packs of subhumans. Grow up and have the stones to discipline your kids, quit making excuses for the little darlins.

He's an idiot. He is an idiot for doing anything like that to begin with. But please don't let this mistake and his poor judgement cloud who this kid really is. He is an awesome guy with sucky judgement. Yes, there is a difference. It rips me up knowing this guy did this with knowing who he is. Tattered a school's football program's biggest accomplishment with one kid doing something stupid...I just hate it for him and for the players that do things right and worked all season for something this special to have it stained so terribly. But I still think he should be punished...with decisions come consequences. He knew there were searches randomly and he knew the risk...or wasn't thinking about it...he should never have even started.

What horrible reporting. What does his drug arrest have to do with Hartselle Football. Obvious Jealousy.

Bill, my children are grownups who have never been in trouble a day in their lives, and I'm proud of that. But let's be realistic enough to know that not every child has two strong parents present to give them a proper foundation. I can remember a few kids who got over their wild partying days, but those who enter the prison system seldom recover.

Robert or Dawn...please!!!! It has alot to do with Hartselle Football. He along with the other athletes at Hartselle or any school represent THEIR school. I'm with "R" someone tipped off this visit. Sad to say Robert or Dawn, but Hartselle does have a looonnngg history of athletes and drugs, they just don't always report in the news about the cover ups the coaches do for them!

How many agencies and dogs does it take to take down a couple of kids. How much cost was associated with this bust? How much did your parents teach you about compassion. Yes these kids did wrong. How sad it is that we can't kneel down and pray for the people who are in trouble. It sounds like all of you are true christians w/no sin in your life. I praise God for you. You all should be made judges of man. Thank God again that our judicial system is not made up of all you little Gods. I am printing this section so that I can pray for each and everyone of you superior beings. I would almost guess that none of you have ever done ANYTHING wrong. No need to try and judge you. I will just pray for you.

I lived in and worked in Morgan County most of my life so I subscribed to the Decatur Daily just to keep up. How refreshing for someone to speak the truth about forgiveness and love. None of us are perfect and I can almost bet that many of you have a Skelton or two in your closet.

If some of the things I have read in the paper lately are true it sounds like Sheriff Franklin and the Commission has a few skeletons as well.

Glenda, We heard you the first time. No need to repeat yourself. You, yourself are judging each and everyone that has posted on here. What sets you above the rest of us heatherns?

I really don't think that sitting down and praying for these drug users would help much at this point. The cost of the dogs and manpower? I'll ask that question of you the next time you are being burglarized or maybe raped by a kid in search of drugs or drug money. Would you ask for the help of a cop then or would you still be willing to offer prayer. Surely you aren't so naive to believe that with a little prayer, there will be no crime.

yeah thats it Ted...just give up on em...that fixes it all...good attitude. Are you saying those kids are automatically going to start a criminal life just because they made a bad judgement? Can you really speak for their future? Their individual future? It really is easy to group all kids into groups based on what decisions they make. No one knows their true heart though. That's whats sad is no one now a days takes that into consideration. We just judge right off the bat...

Yep. where there's smoke, there's usually a fire getting started.

Sure...key word being usually...like I said...don't judge. Now, Ted, youre just trying to win an arguement instead of trying to appreciate someone elses point that maybe it has some validity.

Ted you totally misunderstand. Small minded thinking. Surely you believe in the power of prayer. It is easier to give up on people that to give them a second chance.

Iva, Glenda, Jay, Earnest, Jerry, Jimmy, and Reverend Ike.

It's very admirable of you to think the way you think. Fortunately, there are enough of us with enough common sense not to look the other way.

First of all, one of you said that he made a mistake. True...he did. But do you really think that the very first time that he took HARD LIQUOR and NARCOTICS TO SCHOOL that he got caught? NO, it was just the first time that the man ( I hesitate to call a 19 year old a child) got caught.with DRUGS and ALCOHOL on school property. MY kids should be able to go to school in a drug free environment regardless of you having a prayer meeting with them to make everything alright. A come-to-Jesus meeting...but not a prayer meeting for this man hanging around my children with ALCOHOL and DRUGS on SCHOOL PROPERTY!

If you will get on the man's Facebook page, you will read where he said that he is going to &%*))^%( some ^%)&&^% ^&**(*^^ for "turning him in! Save your preaching for Sunday morning.....tithing 10% doesn't make you anymore righteous than me!

How did I ever say I was more righteous than you ?? I also believe I said he should be punished and he was an idiot for even starting the stuff. Where did the holyer than thou come out? No one said things would be alright after praying with him. It doesn't magically make things different. He will still face the consequences and still be punished. He has still ruined his life from here on out and he still has to pay for what he did. I was just saying don't brow beat the kid when you don't even know the kid. This must be where you get your enjoyment...posting on the DD articles to start crap.

Glad none of YOU people have ever messed up! How is it to be perfect?!? And Go Red Raiders!

Auburn will draft him for sure they like the criminal aspect to putem over the top , how they won their championship with a petty thief thug as quarterback

Tbone 2 words Dre Kirkpatrick

Again Jay.

A 19 year old IS NOT A KID. That's my point. 10-12-14, even 16 years old, by all means, redirect them. !9 years old, he's an adult and responsible for his actions. And furhermore, I do know Jordan. I've known him since he was a young man at Danville. I probably know him better than any of you that are out there trying to make excuses for his actions.

Excuse me Ted, but I didn't read anywhere in Jay's retoric where he made any "excuses" for him. Jay seems to have a forgiving heart that still has hope for a young man to turn his life around. Yes, some people that start using drugs and alcohol in their teenage years continually go down hill, but others do turn their life around and become an example and mentor to other troubled youths. Hopefully Jordan will take this and move onward and upward.

Pamela;

I do hope that you, Jay, and others are right about Jordan and prove me wrong on this one. Time will tell.

Glenda, The Supreme Court says It's against the law to knell down and pray for this drug user on school grounds. You can think your liberal judges and lawmakers who cater to criminal behavior for that. It's also against the law to use drugs and alcohol there, too.

It looks like Roland McClain is going to have a new running buddy when he comes home to Decatur.

Why were the dogs not allowed to go into the classrooms like they do at Austin High School?

It was not reported, but there was a fight after school, and 1 boy got suspended. and the other got a warning.

Any young man who has the fortitude to do the things necessary to be on a state championship football team, would probably be able to do what it takes to turn his life around if given a chance… In my opinion

Great post George...you are exactly right.

What's a "heathern"? Is that someone not from either northern or southern states? LOL!

Look up heathen or pagan and as so many are fond of saying, "Don't be a hater." ;-)

Hartselle.............what a Peyton Place. Hey Robert or Dawn what about the other 2 football players that were busted for drugs during the season but continued to play? It does have something to do with the football team.

This article said nothing about AUBURN, t-bone. Typical bammer,

and don't forget the thugs and drugs on the baseball team either!
